Russia’s Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant (NLMK) will renovate and reconstruct its hot-dip galvanizing unit No. 3 (ANGTs-3) to increase the production of galvanized steel used in the construction industry, according to media reports.
The plant produces hot-rolled galvanized steel with a thickness of 3.5-4.0 mm which is used in building construction. Its annual capacity is 340,000mt. After the upgrade, it is expected to increase by 8pc to 360,000mt per annum.
The equipment installation and reconstruction work is expected to be completed by November this year. It is being implemented jointly with Hugo Miebach (Germany) and is worth RUB360mn ($4.70mn).
