NLMK’s pre-painting line PPL-1 at its Lipetsk plant in Russia will undergo an upgrade that will double its capacity from 195,000mt of pre-painted steel at present.
This project, which is being implemented in association with the Italian EPC firm Danieli, will help the Russian steelmaker improve the strip quality and reduce output costs of pre-painted steel grades, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
NLMK will invest close to RUB 500mn ($6.3mn) on this project which is slated to begin in March 2021 with an estimated completion of two months.
