Italy-based heavy steel plate and ingot producer NLMK Verona has resumed production. The plant produces forged and rolled steel plates, forged steel blocks and ingots.
NLMK Verona is catering to orders from biomedical equipment supply suppliers, according to local media reports. The plant has resumed operations with reduced capacity in-line with low demand.
The plant has a capacity to produce 450,000mt of heavy plate, annually. Around 66pc of NLMK Verona’s output is sold in Italy and the rest is supplied to other European customers. The company specialises in production of very thick construction steel and specialist steel used to manufacture pressure vessels and tools.
NLMK Verona is part of NLMK group’s Europe operations which has an overall annual production capacity of 3.1mn mt steel products. NLMK Europe has plants in France, Belgium, Denmark and Italy.
