Nornickel expects to produce 225,000-235,000 mt of nickel from its Russian operations, save for Chita, this year. 

 

Copper output is expected at reach 420,000-440,000 mt by the end of this year from the Nornickel’s aforementioned operations.

 

The group’s nickel production from Russia, Finland and South Africa in the first nine months of the year was almost unchanged at 167,753mt from 166,948mt during the same nine-month period in 2019, while its total nickel output last quarter grew by 8pc to 60,165mt from 55,831mt during Q3 2019. 

 

Nornickel’s copper production from its operations in Russia, Finland and South Africa dropped by 4pc in the January-September period to 358,587mt from 371,971mt a year ago. Its copper output declined by 5pc to 118,674mt in Q3 2020 from 124,926mt in Q2 2020, Nornickel stated. 

 

Considering the production results for the three quarters of the year, Nornickel expects to meet its production guidance for the year, it said in a statement.
