Russian miner Norilsk Nickel (Nornickel) has ordered new crushing equipment from Metso Outotec to modernize operations at its Talnakh processing plant in Norilsk, Russia.
The order includes one SAG mill, two ball mills, and two pebble crushers. Nornickel noted that the plant’s modernization is expected to increase the volume and efficiency of production at the facility.
In 2018, the miner decided to increase throughput capacity at the copper-nickel concentrator plant to 18mn mt a year from 10.2mn mt. The Talnakh mine is estimated to hold 1.5bn mt of metallic reserves, including 11.5mn mt of nickel ore and 21.9mn mt of copper ore.
