Norway ferrous scrap exports surged by 4.72pc (15,177mt) in the first seven months of 2021 (Jan-July) to 336,338mt from 321,161mt in 2020. In July, exports rose to 41,967mt, down by 1pc from a year ago, while up by 32pc from June.

 

Export to the Netherlands increased 252pc to 20,000mt in July from 5,688mt in the prior-year period and increased by 17pc from 17,099mt in June.

 

The country exported 12,349mt of ferrous scrap to Germany, down by 13pc from 14,163mt in July 2020 and down by 23pc from 15,958mt in June.

 

Exports to Sweden increased to 5,788mt, up by 22pc from a year ago but declined compared to 7,327mt in June.

 

Ferrous scrap export to Pakistan fell by 28pc to 2,596mt from 3,624mt in the prior-year period, and down by 61pc from 6,719mt in June.
