Outokumpu has appointed Liam Bates as its new President to handle the company’s Long Product segment, effective immediately.
Bates has worked at Outokumpu since 1993 in various roles and was a member of its leadership team since 2015. He will now be reporting to Heikki Malinen, chief executive officer at Outokumpu, but will no longer be a part of the leadership team in his new position, the company said in a press release on Thursday.
Bates replaced Kari Tutti as the president as the latter went on to pursue his career outside of the steel maker.
