Six carmakers, including Kia, Nissan, and Tesla, will deliver 11, 254 electric vehicles (EV), which will be used as taxis in China.
The EVs will be provided to Ideanomics Mobile Energy Global, a firm that is leading an initiative to replace conventional taxis with EVs in the Asian nation.
According to a press statement by Ideanomics, Kia, Nissan, Chery, Geely, BYD, Dong Feng, and Tesla will have busy order books EVs from these companies slated to be delivered to around seven Chinese cities that are either replacing their conventional cabs with EVs or buying new EVs. Here’s how each of these cities will be provided with new taxis:
