More than 69mn mt of primary aluminum was produced across the globe between November 2018 and 2019, according to the International Aluminium Institute (IAI).
Primary aluminum production decreased slightly in November to 5.19mn mt compared with 5.3mn mt in the prior month. China produced 2.88mn mt in November decreasing from 2.98mn mt in October.
The Gulf Cooperation Council produced 481,000mt of primary aluminum last month. Asia (excluding China) reported 359,000mt of primary aluminum production, followed by East and Central Europe at 345,000mt, North America at 311,000mt, Western Europe at 282,000mt, Oceania at 157,000mt, Africa at 133,000mt, and South America at 95,000mt.
Comparatively in October, East and Central Europe produced 356,000mt, followed by North America at 316,000, followed by Western Europe at 286,000mt, Oceania at 162,000mt, Africa at 138,000mt, and South America at 101,000mt.
