Australian miner Oz Minerals has reached its target mine processing rate of 4.25mn mt per year at the Carrapateena mine in South Australia.
The company achieved this milestone within a year of the mine’s first concentrate production in December 2019, six months ahead of schedule. Since Q2 2020, the miner has increased contained copper production at Carrapateena to above 7,000mt per quarter. The mine is expected to produce 25,000-30,000mt of the red metal in 2020.
Oz Minerals’ copper production in Q3 2020 tallied at 23,873mt, of which Carrapateena contributed 7,063mt.
