Indiana-based Paragon Steel has acquired Ohio-based Buckeye Metals Industries for an undisclosed amount, to expand the former’s services in the Midwest.

Buckeye Metals was owned by the Ison family and will continue operating under the same name with key members remaining on the board and in leadership roles.

Paragon steel is a distributor and value-added processor of flat-rolled steel through two coil processing plants in Butler, Indiana, with a distribution network throughout the Midwest with Buckeye’s addition. Paragon was founded in 1994 and expanded within the same plant in 2007.

The Henry family, which owns Paragon Steel, also owns Maumee Metal Recycling, Midwest Pipe & Steel, Paragon Tube, and Wayne Metals in northern Indiana.
