Phillips Tube Group is expanding its operations into Richmond, Indiana. The Ohio-based steel tube manufacturer will invest $8mn to establish an operational site at the Eastern Indiana Industrial Park and will create 30 jobs by 2024.
Angela Phillips, chief executive officer, noted that the Midwest and in particular Indiana is an important region for market growth.
Phillips has secured a $98,500 Economic Development Income Tax Grant along with another $325,000 in conditional tax credits for building renovations, equipment, and training. The larger amount becomes available once workers are hired. Phillips has also applied for additional tax abatements to support its growth in Richmond including $6.4mn towards equipment and $400,000 for real estate.
Phillips Tube Group includes Middletown Tube Works, Shelby Welded Tube, both in Ohio, and Phillips Tube of Alabama along with R.H. Phillips Trucking to service customers in the Ohio region.
