Pilbara Ports Authority iron ore exports stood at 50.4mn mt for June 2021, a 2.8pc decline from 51.7mn mt in the same month of the previous year.
China remained the largest receiver of iron ore shipments from Pilbara, in terms of volume, despite a 9.9pc decrease to 42mn mt in June from 46.2mn mt in June 2020. The second-largest cargo destination was Indonesia, doubling its imports to 903,325mt from 449,832mt within the same period.
The Port of Port Hedland was responsible for 50.8mn mt of the total iron ore delivered for the month and the highest overall monthly throughput.
Pilbara Ports Authority’s overall monthly deliveries in June were 63.2mn mt, a 7pc decrease compared to the same month of the year prior.
