South Korean steelmaker Posco has secured the minimum order required to operate Gwangyang No.3 Blast Furnace to ordinary level, which recommenced after refurbishment.

According to a company release, Psoco is aiming to secure maximum sales orders by minimusing costs in spite of slowdown in international business due to COVID-19 pandemic.

With this, Posco possesses four smart furnaces — two each in Pohang and Gwangyang.  

After Gwangyang No.3 Blast Furnace restarted on July 10 with improved internal capacity the productivity will improve by 4.6 mn mt per year, the company claimed.
