Turkey exported 1.07mn mt of rebar in the first two months of 2021 compared with 1.03mn mt in the same period last year, according to statistical source SteelData.

 

Long product shipments from Turkey to Israel and Singapore increased by 19pc and by 74pc to 187,000mt and 140,500mt, respectively, during the period under review and decreased by 51pc to 119,000mt to Yemen.

 

Turkey exported 107,500mt of rebar to Hong Kong in January-February 2021 and 59,000mt to Brazil, while there were no supplies to those countries in January-February 2020, according to SteelData.

 

Jamaica and Peru were other important outlets, where Turkey tripled and raised rebar shipments by five times to 45,000mt and 80,500mt, respectively.

 

Rebar export from Turkey to the USA declined by 56pc to 42,000mt during the period under review.

 

In February 2021, Turkey’s long product exports reached 576,000mt versus 464,000mt in the same month last year.
