Reel International continues to expand in the aluminum supply chain, with its acquisition of General Electric—Steam Power’s Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS) in Norway.
Reel, a company primarily involved in material lifting and handling systems, has steadily increased its stake in the aluminum industry. The AQCS business entails Reel setting up potline treatment and bake oven fume treatment units as well as aluminum-intensive heat exchangers. The technology involved in the production of this equipment has been derived from prior parent companies, such as ABB and Alstom.
This move comes months after Reel acquired Metso Outotec’s aluminum business, which produces and sets up aluminum anode plants, anode rod shops, and other casting equipment.
