US-based Electric vehicle startup Rivian may set up a manufacturing unit in Europe to produce electric vans and cars.

 

According to media reports, the EV manufacturer, which is backed by Ford and Amazon, is looking at sites in the UK, Hungary, and Germany to set up its plant. The carmaker plans to use this facility to build 100,000 electric vans for Amazon by 2030. Of this total, it plans to produce and deliver 10,000 vehicles next year.

 

Reports indicate that the EV maker will begin manufacturing cars at this plant once it fulfills its order for Amazon. The company is also mulling an initial public offering by the end of this year.
