Indian steel major SAIL’s subsidiary Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) produced 306,510mt of crude steel in February with a saleable steel production of 281,501mt.
RSP produced 229,704mt hot metal from blast furnace-5 and 82,300mt hot metal from blast furnace-1, reported PSU Watch. Also, HR coil production totalled at 1,52,917mt against the previous best production figure of 1,42,344mt, back in 2013.
The production figures reported by the SAIL’s Rourkela plant are the best February production figures since its inception.
RSP has an enhanced annual capacity of 4.5mt of hot metal and 4.2mn mt of crude steel, which it plans to raise to 10mn mt by 2030.
