Russian aluminum producer UC Rusal will supply its low-carbon aluminum product, Allow, to semifinished aluminum fabricator Rheinfelden. 

 

According to a release by the company, it will begin shipping out Allow to the German secondary alloys maker, beginning in August. Since Rusal now owns the latter, it will be engaged in a long-term supply contract, it indicated. With this synergy of Rusal’s low carbon aluminum and Rheinfelden’s recycling abilities, the companies aim to bring further value to the global automotive industry.

 

At the time of publication, Rusal did not comment on the monthly volume or supply schedules for this contract. According to estimates, Rheinfelden currently produces around 30,000mt of secondary aluminum per year.
