Russia-based company UGMK’s Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant JSC produced 211,781mt of Special High Grade zinc and alloys in 2020, up 2.3pc from the previous year.
The company’s Nova Zinc LLP unit produced 38,968mt of zinc in concentrate in 2020, up 3pc from 2019 levels. Subsidiary of Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant JSC, Siberian-Polymetals produced 29,141mt of zinc in concentrate, up 16.9pc from 2019.
Production volumes increased in 2020 on the back of strong technical potential, said the company. The company is now aiming to increase production efficiency in the coming year.
Chelyabinsk Zinc Plant JSC is Russia’s largest producer of zinc and zinc-based alloys. The plant specializes in the production of high-quality zinc-based alloys among alloys for hot-dip galvanizing. Zinc products are used in galvanizing of steel sheets for metal structures and for the automotive industries, mechanical engineering and chemical industry.
