The weekly Davis Indexes for HMS 1&2 (80:20) or A3 scrap in Russia’s Baltic Sea and Black Sea regions were unchanged at $383/mt fob and $395/mt fob, respectively, on Monday amid fresh bookings.
Russian exporters resumed export sales at the beginning of September. Thus, a supplier from St Petersburg closed a deal at $445/mt cfr for HMS 1&2 (80:20) with a Turkish mill. A recycler from Murmansk and Arkhangelsk sold HMS 1&2 (95:5) at $444.50/mt cfr to Turkey.
Some Turkish mills were asking for A3 cargoes from Rostov-on-Don last week and were ready to pay $440/mt cfr, though no transactions were reported as this price level was not acceptable for the most exporters from this region.
Collection prices fell in Russia with the weekly Davis Index for A3 scrap decreasing by RUB1,300/mt to RUB21,275/mt delivered St Petersburg dock and by RUB350/mt to RUB22,750/mt delivered Rostov-on-Don dock.
