Russian stainless steel imports in October increased by 19.9pc to 32,860mt from September, however, declined by 11.9pc as compared to the prior year, according to data provided by Russia’s Spetsstal Association.
The country’s cold-rolled flat steel product imports in October grew by 29.8pc, while imports of hot-rolled flat products in the same month rose by 1.3pc from the prior month.
In October, long product imports and electric-welded pipe imports grew by 10.6pc and 49.1pc, respectively, while wire imports increased by 5.5.pc as compared to the preceding month.
Imports of seamless pipes in October fell by 16.2pc, while primary billet imports for the same period declined by 71.8pc from the preceding month.
In October, around 243 Russian companies directly imported stainless steel products worth $73.23mn from 31 countries across
the globe.
The top stainless steel exporter to Russia in October was China, which contributed 37.6pc of the total import. China was followed by India with 18pc, Indonesia with 7pc, South Korea with 6.7pc, and Taiwan with 4.9pc.
