Russian recyclers exported 4pc less ferrous scrap from January-April 2021 at 1.31mn mt compared to 1.36mn mt during the same period of 2020, according to Russian Customs data.
Scrap exports from Russia were 299,000mt in April 2021, a 13pc increase compared to264,612mt during the same month a year ago. The main importer was Belarus, where shipments rose over 2 times to 108,000mt.
Scrap exports from Russia to Turkey decreased by 21pc to 93,000mt in April 2021 and rose by 2pc at 29,000mt to Egypt.
