Loading volumes of iron and manganese ore by rail in Russia increased by 2.8pc while export shipments went up by a third in July, according to data from the Russian Railway (RZD).
Export volumes loaded onto railcars in July tallied at more than 10.4mn mt, while Russian export shipments exceeded 2.6mn mt, up 33pc over the same month last year. The ports of Murmansk and Novorossiysk were the main routes, handling 630,000mt and 419,300mt in July.
In the first seven months of this year, the country exported 16.4mn mt of iron and manganese ore, rising 1.5 times from the same period last year.
China was the largest importer of these materials, followed by Italy, Germany, Slovakia, Turkey, and the UK.
