Pig iron exports from Russia decreased by 51pc to 106,000mt in January compared to January 2020, according to customs data, due to improved domestic consumption.
Russia’s pig iron output declined by 2.8pc to 4.5mn mt during the period under review, according to the World Steel Association. The country holds the fourth position in the world among the largest pig iron producers after China (73.21mn mt), India (9.89mn mt), and Japan (6.01mn mt).
