Russia’s Jan-Jul stainless steel imports rose to 231,968mt compared to 210,559mt in the same period in 2020, according to Customs data.
In July, volumes dropped by 6pc to 26,231mt compared to 27,854mt in the same month last year and a 49pc dip from 51,753mt in June this year.
Russia’s highest stainless steel imports in July were from China with a 27pc increase to 16,363mt from 12,913mt in July 2020, while they declined by 37pc from 26,084mt in the previous month. Exports from India increased by 52pc to 5,540mt from 3,651mt and grew by 42pc from 3,904mt during the same corresponding timeframes under review.
Its stainless steel shipments from Taiwan fell by 41pc to 1,082mt in July from the same prior-year month and dropped by 51pc from 2,188mt in June this year.
