Russia’s stainless steel (SS) product imports in the first eleven months of 2020 (Jan-Nov, 2020) stood at 347,500mt, up by 5.1pc from the prior-year period, according to data provided by Russia’s Spetsstal Association.
Of the total SS imports in the Jan-Nov period, the country’s cold-rolled stainless steel product imports grew by 9.8pc, while imports of hot-rolled SS products in the same period rose by 11.9pc as compared to the same period in 2019.
In the Jan-Nov period, imports of SS long product increased by 4.2pc, while SS primary billet imports grew by 30pc as compared to the prior-year period.
Electric-welded SS pipe imports in the Jan-Nov period fell by 2.5pc from the same period in the preceding year.
Imports of seamless SS pipes in the 11-month period fell by 33.6pcpc, while SS wire imports for the same period declined by 22pc from the same period the year before.
In the Jan-Nov period, around 774 Russian companies imported SS products worth $824.97mn from 42 countries across the globe.
Russia’s SS product imports from India in the 11-month period increased by 22.2pc to 47,500mt, from Indonesia grew by 102.7pc to 28,400mt and from South Korea rose by 7.6pc to 20,300mt as compared to the same period in 2019.
During the same period, imports of products from China fell by 3.2pc to 136,500mt and from Taiwan declined by 23.4pc to 24,200mt as compared to the Jan-Nov period in the year before.
