Russia’s unwrought aluminum exports rose by 14pc in March 2021 at 275,022mt from 241,750mt in the same month last year, according to the country’s Customs data. Exports also increased by 45pc in March from 189,524mt in the previous month.

 

Turkey was the country’s largest importer of unwrought aluminum in March, recording a 50pc increase to 56,704mt from 37,756mt in the same month last year. Italy’s imports continued their downward trend with a 63pc decline from 20,696mt to 7,756mt within the same period. 

 

China’s import volumes jumped 2,372pc to 39,978mt in March 2021 from 1,617mt in the same month of the previous year.

 

Russia’s unwrought copper exports also increased by 39pc to 49,283mt from 35,473mt in March under comparison. A decrease of 14pc was recorded in March this year from 57,547mt in February.

 

 

The largest amount of unwrought copper was exported to China in March, growing by 195pc to 18,679mt from 6,322mt in the same month last year. Exports to the Netherlands declined by 8pc in March 2021 to 15,012mt from 16,370mt in the previous year and by 41pc in Turkey to 2,968mt from 5,021mt within the same timeframe. 

 

 

Unwrought aluminum increased by 51pc to 724,557mt in the first three months of 2021 until March from 481,278mt in the same prior-year period, while unwrought copper exports decreased by 6.8pc to 142,283mt from 152,656mt within the same timeframe.
