Davis Index: Market Intelligence for the Global Metals and Recycled Materials Markets

Russia’s total vehicle sales in October increased by 7pc to 154,164 units from the prior year and by 3.4pc from September, bouncing back from the declining demand due to the effects of the COVID-18 pandemic, according to the Association of European Businesses (AEB).

The association said that the sales in October were triggered by the success of the top market players with the domestic production that assured more flexibility in deliveries.

In the Jan-Oct period, Russia’s new vehicle sales stood at  1.18mn units, down by 12.1pc from the prior year due to a significant decline between April and August owing to the curbs and economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The association has forecast that Russia’s total vehicle sales in 2020 would be around 1.522mn units, down by 13.5pc from the prior year.
