Steel Authority of India subsidiary Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) produced 333,840mt of hot metal in August from its two blast furnaces, reaching the highest monthly output, according to media reports. Of this, BF No.1 produced 89,459mt of hot metal, its highest ever since inception.
On Aug 17, BF No.1 has hit its all-time high single-day production of 3,552mt. On August 19 RSP’s steel melting shop-2 created a new record by making 73 blows from two converters in a single day. The road dispatch of prime metal was at an all-time high of 54,183mt in the month.
Furthermore, the company’s new plate mill has set a new record by producing 22,591mt of plates and rolling out 7,958 slabs in August. It dispatched 91,138mt of plates during the month.
