Samuel Associated Tube Group (Samuel) will be building a $29mn production facility near Birmingham, Alabama. The carbon steel tubing division of Samuel, Son & Co, with its developer, will construct a 284,000 square foot facility near Birmingham to consolidate its multiple standing facilities and offer room for the advancement of its new business production.

 

The new facility is expected to be completed and fully operational before Dec 31, 2020. The manufacturing business is projected to bring economic development by supporting retention and growth of businesses throughout the region.

 

The company estimates the addition of 50 new jobs to the existing 190 workers currently employed at the Birmingham location. Samuel has been growing steadily over the past several years and has been looking for the right location to expand business operations, as well as meet the needs of its expanding customer base. The company’ provides its products to automotive, power transmission, agriculture, and other industries in the US.

 

Samuel is a manufacturer of small diameter, electric resistance welded, and fabricated carbon steel tubing. The company converts carbon steel coil into high quality mechanical or structural tubing and offers precision cutting and fabrication of components and welded subassemblies. The company is part of the Samuel Group of companies and has been in Jefferson County since 1973.
