Sandfire Resources will go ahead with the $259mn development of the T3 Motheo copper/silver project in Botswana as positive definitive feasibility study (DFS) reports are available indicating 3.2mn mt annual output with the capacity to increase the output up to 5.2mn mt per year. 

Sandfire engaged Lycopodium for engineering and procurement services for the development. Lycopodium subsidiary ADP Kukama, will operate from Botswana, 

This project will be overseen by Tshukudu Metals Botswana, a subsidiary of Sandfire Resources.

This new project will bein the central portion of Kalahari copper belt, where Sandfire Resources has 26 645 sq km ground-holding in Botswana and Namibia.

As the base case operation, Sandfire Resources is eyeing $2.45bn revenue and earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of $987mn.

Recently, Sandfire announced tha A4 contained maiden inferred resources having 100,000mt at an average grade of 1.5pc of copper. A4 is only 8km away from the planned processing plant and infrastructure at T3.
