Swedish mining equipment specialist Sandvik is set to acquire South African screens and feeder supplier Kwatani as part of the former’s Rock Processing Solutions unit.
Products include screens, feeders, fine separators, drives, and services, noted Sandvik in a statement on Friday.
Kwatani’s takeover is a first for Sandvik Rock Processing since its inception in 2021, and it will help the latter expand its equipment range and aftermarket services portfolio.
Sandvik has yet to disclose the buy-out amount and deal completion date.
Kwatani has custom-engineered and manufactured about 1,000 of its robust vibrating screens and feeders for the domestic iron-ore sector, and has shipped 15,000 units to 35 countries. Its heaviest scalping screen can handle a maximum continuous iron-ore feed load of 7,000t (6,350mt) per hour.
