India-based Sarda Energy & Minerals’ iron ore pellet production rose by 28pc to 80,000mt in the March ending quarter Q4 from the prior year. Sales declined by 1pc to 43,000mt in the quarter.
Sponge iron output down by 17pc
The company’s sponge iron production decreased by 17pc to 66,000mt in Q4 compared to the prior-year quarter and sales fell by 16pc to 32,000mt. Production and sales were impacted by the COVID-19-related lockdown from March 25, 2020.
Wire rod sales output & sales fell
The company’s wire rod production decreased by 6pc to 29,000mt and sales fell by 4pc to 23,000mt in the quarter from a year ago.
Ferroalloy output up by 6pc
Sarda Energy’s ferroalloys production rose by 6pc to 34,000mt in the March quarter compared to Q4 2019 but sales remained unchanged at 32,000mt in the quarter.
The company based in Raipur, Central India is known for its production of long steel products. It has an annual capacity of producing 600,000mt iron ore, 156,000mt billets and 118,000mt wire rods.
