German recycler Scholz Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Shandong, China-based aluminium manufacturer Weiqiao Group to develop a recycling park in Binzhou.
The park could help the Chinese aluminium maker secure over 200,000mt of aluminium scrap to become environmentally sustainable, states Scholz in its press statement. According to the agreement signed on June 9, Scholz will provide recycling know-how and help Weiqiao secure supply chain. The project is also in tune with China government’s plan of utilising domestic scrap over importing metal waste.
In the first phase of their plan, around 50,000 end-of-life vehicles would be collected every year. The next steps would be worked out in detail subsequently.
