Shagang Group in Jiangsu, China has put its 480m³ blast furnace, electric arc furnace, a wire rod production line and heavy and medium plate facilities under maintenance until April end at the minimum. The stoppage is likely to reduce their crude steel, pig iron, plates and wire rod production by over 200,000mt, according to government agency China metallurgical News.
Shagang Group is one of the largest private steel company in China and the sixth largest in the world. Its estimated annual production capacity is 31.9mn mt of iron, 40mn mt of steel and 37.2mn mt of rolled products.
