Canada’s Silvercorp produced 7.13mn lbs of zinc in the September quarter (Q2), up by 2pc from the prior year quarter. Lead production dipped by 3pc to 19.08mn lbs from the prior year quarter.

 

In the six-month period (April-September) lead production was 1pc down from the previous year at 39.16mn lbs. Zinc production rose by 3pc to 14.66mn lbs from the previous year period. 

 

The company has two mines producing zinc and lead in China; Ying Mining and GC Mine. Ying Mining is on track to produce annual production between 56.6mn lbs of lead and 7.0 – 8.0 mn lbs of zinc in FY21. GC Mine is also expected to meet the annual guidance of 10.5mn lbs of lead and 17.5-18.7mn pounds of zinc in FY21.

 

In September, sales of lead was reported at 18.55mn lbs, down 3pc from a year ago while sales of zinc rose 11pc to 7.41mn lbs in the same period from the previous year. In H1, the company sold 39.43mn lbs of lead and 14.36mn lbs of zinc, up 7pc and 3pc, respectively from 2019.
