Sino Kasempa minerals produced and shipped its first batch of 600mt copper concentrates in December at the Shivuma mine in Zambia. 

Exploration at the mine began on 2007. Results indicated that the estimated copper resources available for commercial mining stood at 160,000mt. The mine in Northwestern province in Zambia spans around 249.5sq km. The copper concentrate was graded at Cu18-21pc.

In 2018, Sinomine entered into a joint development agreement with another Chinese company. After two years of construction, the project commenced production in October 2020. In the coming days, the mine is estimated to produce 10,000mt copper concentrate.
