Czech automobile manufacturer Škoda Auto produced 753,013 vehicles in 2020 at its Mladá Boleslav and Kvasiny plants despite a 39-day production shutdown and challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company said in a statement.

 

The company produced 480,000 units from the Fabia, Scalam Octavia iV, Kamiq, Karoq and Enyaq iV series at the plant. Of which, Octavia was the highest manufactured model with 187,000 units being produced in 2020.

 

In November, the company also began production of the Škoda Enyaq at the Mladá Boleslav plant to produce vehicles based on the modular electrification toolkit (MEB) and the modular transverse toolkit (MQB). The assembly line will produce between 250 and 350 units of the all-electric SUVs per day.

 

The company produced 270.000 units at its Kvasiny plant. It manufactures Škoda Superb and Superb iV, the Kodiaq and Karoq SUV models as well as the Seat Ateca at the Kvasiny plant.

Outlook

The company said it will focus on expanding the model portfolio towards entry-level segments, opening up new markets for further growth in the volume segment, and achieving tangible progress in the areas of sustainability and diversity.
