Volkswagen Group’s Škoda Auto has forecast that at least 50pc of its Europe sales will consist of electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030.

Plans of transitioning its motor engines over the next decade are already underway for the Czech carmaker, according to media reports on Friday. The company has also added three new undisclosed EV models to the two existing models.

Škoda hasn’t stated by when it plans to become completely electric, but it estimates a 50pc reduction in fleet emissions in the next decade, in line with the company’s long-term strategy.
