South Korea imported 74,120mt of aluminium scrap in Aug 2020, up by 7.16pc from 69,163mt in Aug 2019.
Out of the total, the country imported 21,595mt from the US, up by 3.27pc from 20,888mt, 9,108mt from Thailand up by 38.31pc from 6,585mt, and 8,755mt from Japan, up by 11.77pc from 7,833mt in the prior-year period.
In the Jan- Aug 2020 period, South Korea imported 633,880mt of aluminium scrap, up by 11.13pc from 570,348.7mt in the same period in 2019. Country-wise, South Korea imported 188,322mt, up by 27pc from the US, 88,300mt, up by 38.7pc from Japan, and 64,421mt, up by 1.76pc from Thailand compared to the prior-year period.
