Ukraine-based Southern Mining and Processing Plant (Southern GOK)’s iron ore concentrate production stood at 1.06mn mt in October, up by 6pc from the same month year prior, according to data released by the company.
In the Jan-Oct period, the company’s iron ore concentrate output stood at 10.7mn mt, up by 3.7pc from the prior-year period.
Iron ore producer Southern GOK is under the joint control of Metinvest Holding and the Evraz Group. The plant’s production capacity is 29mn mt for raw ore, 11mn mt for concentrate, and 2mn mt for sinter per year.
As per media reports, nearly 50pc of its iron ore concentrate is exported to China and it supplies sinter to only domestic markets.
