India’s Steel Strips Wheels’ (SSWL’s) exports climbed 164pc crossing Rs1bn ($13.49mn) in July 2021 and were up 193pc in June this year from their corresponding months last year.
The automotive producer’s private vehicle sales grew by 66pc in July from the previous year and by 157pc in June from the same month last year.
SSWL reported 1pc and 20pc declines in tractor sales over July and June 2020. The company’s commercial vehicles segment recorded a 188pc growth in July from the same year-ago month and a 194pc increase in June from the corresponding month in 2020.
Sales volumes of two- and three-wheelers increased by 89pc in July and soared 204pc in June from the same month in the previous year.
SSWL expects this upward momentum in all its segments to continue until the end of FY2021-2022.
