Oleksandr Yaroslavsky’s DCH Group’s Ukraine-based iron ore mining and processing complex Sukhaya Balka produced 651,400mt of iron ore in the first quarter of 2021 (Jan-March), registering a decline of 3.1pc as compared to the prior-year period. The complex’s iron ore output stood at 219,630mt in March 2021.
In 2020, the company’s iron ore production fell by 6.3pc to 2.55mn mt as compared to the preceding year.
The Sukhaya Balka complex specializes in the underground mining of iron ore. The mine is made up of two mines – Yuvileyna mine and
Frunze mine. The annual capacity of the mine is 3.1mn mt per annum. It mainly supplies iron ore to Ukraine, Slovakia, and Serbia markets. The complex is located in Kryvyi Rih of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast province in Ukraine.
