Local government of Taiyuan has imposed orange anti-pollution alert in the city until Jan 20. Orange alert is the second highest alert in the three-tier pollution warning system. During this alert, companies are required to cut emission and, in some cases, restrict production. Production at Taiyuan Iron and Steel group, Shanxi Taiyuan Haoruida Stainless Steel and other steel plants located in the city will be impacted by this alert.
