Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer, Tata Motors, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Gujarat government to set up a Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility (RVSF). 

 

Tata Motors’ unit will be located in Ahmedabad city, India, and will have a recycling capacity of 36,000 end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles annually. 

 

The Ports and Transport Department will provide the required approvals according to the regulations and policies outlined by the State Government of Gujarat and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. 

 

Tata Motors’ vehicle scrapping facility could potentially create jobs for MSMEs, increase in new vehicle sales for original equipment manufacturers, decrease the operating costs for vehicle owners, and provide access to safer and cleaner vehicles for a sustainable environment
