Teck Resources Limited has restarted operations on Aug 18 at its Highland Valley Copper (HVC) mine in Canada after local authorities controlled the wildfire situation in the Logan Lake region. The company may update its production guidance after assessing risks and the after-effects subside. Teck will continue to observe and examine wildfire and air quality conditions to prioritize the health and safety of the workforce.
On Aug 15, the mine had received an order for evacuation, following and had suspended operations. District authorities lifted the order according to Teck’s statement on Wednesday. The HVC facility is also currently working to ramp up production to full capacity.
