Nickel and zinc producer Terrafame expects metal price uncertainty to prevail while it continues to improve future production and costs.
The company plans to shut down its metal recovery plant in May, which may affect its production slightly, it said in a statement.
The company’s nickel production dropped by 12.9pc to 7,286mt in the first quarter of the year compared to 8,362mt in the same quarter in 2020. The firm’s zinc production in Q1 2021 fell by 21.4pc to 12,212mt from 15,542mt in Q1 2020.
The Finland-based firm’s net sales dropped by 2.8pc to €93.4mn ($112.9mn) in the first three months of the year compared to €96.1mn in the same period last year.
Its EBITDA fell by 15pc to €9.6mn in Q1 2021 compared to €11.3mn in Q1 2020.
