Thailand’s Committee on Dumping and Subsidy stated that it has decided to cancel the provisional anti-dumping (AD) duty on Chinese hot-dip galvanized (HDG) cold-rolled steel products in coils and non-coils on June 8. The decision comes in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic impacting the international steel trade situation. The country will also return the deposit accumulated since August 3, 2020.

Thailand initiated an AD investigation on these products from China on February 21, 2020. The Ministry of Commerce made the preluding decision to impose a provisional AD duty of 35.67pc.

Three types of steel products, including products with a thickness surpassing 2.3mm, products involved in automobiles and parts, and products used in electric devices, were under investigation.
