Thailand aluminium scrap imports increased by 16pc to 26,484mt in July from 22,826mt in the prior-year period.
In the first seven months of 2021 (Jan-July), Thailand imported 207,538mt of aluminium scrap, an increase of 37pc (57,089mt) from 150,449mt in the prior-year period.
The country imported 7,081mt of aluminium scrap from Cambodia in July, an increase of 15pc from 6,176mt in July 2020 and a decline of 15pc from 8,286mt in June, this year.
Aluminium scrap imports from the US declined by 15pc to 4,764mt in July from 5,611mt in the prior-year period and from 5,573mt in the prior month.
Similarly, aluminium scrap imports from Japan also declined by 46pc in July to 2,007mt from 3,746mt in July 2020 and increased by 6pc from 1,901mt in June.
